General Motors has said it would with Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation, Shanghai GM and Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center to design and develop a new generation of small-displacement gasoline engines EcoTec.

     The new engine series will include three-cylinder and four-cylinder engine series, displacement rose to 1.5 liters from 1.0, the global market within the next decade into production. They will use light design and advanced technology, such as direct injection engine technology, turbocharging technology, provides the vehicle with excellent fuel economy and superior performance. The series will also further reduce engine noise and vibration.

     General Motors also announced that the next generation of R & D EN-V concept cars and pure electric mini-car Chevrolet SPARK, full electric cars. EN-V is a lithium battery-powered two-seater electric car, the application of the electric drive, networking and automatic vehicle driving skills. The car was during the 2010 Shanghai World Expo in Shanghai debut. Next-generation Chevrolet EN-V will include the Chevrolet brand, and add new features to customer needs. Electric Chevrolet SPARK in 2013 in the U.S. and global markets for sale.
