Japan's Honda Motor Company today announced that the company expects fiscal year 2012 (April 2011 -2012 in March) and operating profit fell 65% year on year, mainly due to profit decline for the Japanese seismic impact of the company.

    Honda Motor Company expects the company's operating profit in fiscal year 2012, 2,000 million yen (approximately equivalent to 2.49 billion U.S. dollars).

    Honda Motor Company said that if the U.S. dollar against the yen for the fiscal year, the average exchange rate of euro against the yen, respectively, 80 and 110, Honda net profit (including the profitability of China) will drop 63% year on year, to 1950 million yen.

    Honda Motor Co. had in April announced that the fourth quarter of fiscal 2010 (January 2011 -3 September) net profit was 445 billion yen (equivalent to 545 million dollars), down 38% year on year. Among them, the Japanese earthquake damage caused operating profit of about 45.7 billion yen.
