Recently, the global engineering solutions and auto parts supplier Faurecia and global development and production of specialty chemicals leader in the field Rhodia collaborate to develop high-performance engineering plastics polyamide-based new generation of innovative lightweight cars seat structure components.

    Faurecia cooperation with Rhodia began in November 2009, the two sides in February 2011 signed a joint development agreement (JDA), announced the partnership. After the signing of the agreement, Faurecia will use Rhodia Polyamide Tech Juan nylSI impact modifier products, develop a series of seat cushion components. Compared with traditional steel parts, plastic seat cushion structure of this new parts are expected to achieve 20% weight loss, and still maintain the original energy.

    Through this joint development agreement, Faurecia, with its components in advanced simulation and design of forecasting unique expertise can be the tip of the seat design expertise and Rhodia Engineering Plastics perfect combination of technology. Jointly designed the current structure of the seat cushion part in the pilot study stage, is expected to be put into mass production in 2014.
