Special car today announced that it will build its China's first transmission plant. Ford's joint venture in China - Changan Ford, Mazda has the plant construction and the Chongqing municipal government signed a memorandum of understanding.

    The Changan Ford Mazda transmission plant will be voted to build an initial investment of about 350 million U.S. dollars (about 2.3 billion yuan), located in Chongqing New North Zone, will start before the end of July 2011, the fourth quarter of 2013 production.

    Ford said the plant will produce 6-speed automatic transmission, an initial annual capacity of up to 40 million units.
