Dow Jones reported that the U.S. auto parts supplier WABCO (WABCOHoldings) Inc., said the company has with South Korea's Hyundai Motor Company has signed a long-term cooperation agreement. Under the agreement, Hyundai Motor Company WABCO will develop and supply a new generation of groundbreaking active safety technology product-OnGuardPLUS system.
The company said, OnGuardPLUS is an advanced driver assistance technology, integrated into the new generation of WABCO anti-lock braking systems, electronic braking system, electronic stability control systems and electronic air suspension system. In the vehicle collision is imminent, OnGuardPLUS will automatically start emergency braking procedure, the vehicle maximum deceleration until the vehicle to a complete stop, so as to protect vehicle safety. It is reported that the technology put into use in 2012.
WABCO said the company is a new generation of Hyundai Motor Company in the heavy-duty truck assembly OnGuardPLUS preparation system, the system is expected to begin volume shipments in 2013.
At the same time, the company said Hyundai Motor Company will also supply commercial vehicles to use the adaptive cruise control (AdaptiveCruiseControl) system.
