Japan International Cooperation Department, announced plans to build solar power plants in Egypt. This is known as "solar power system with the introduction of clean energy" project plans to build a photovoltaic power plant. The plant will have the ability to maintain a sports center, shopping malls and residential demand for electricity.

     Japan will invest $ 11 million as the "grand scheme" part. The plant capacity of 420 kilowatts is expected, 2012 will reach 641,000 kilowatts to run after. Transport equipment and technical support provided mainly by Japan, Egypt is responsible for equipment installation and preparation.

     The project was submitted in April 2009 an application was approved in February 2010.

     This project proved that, Fukushima nuclear spills and costly reconstruction of northern Japan, Japan's Foreign Ministry did not weaken the large-scale energy projects in the investment capacity. "At present, Japan's nuclear energy policy has not changed, but Egypt and the nuclear crisis and the project does not matter, because the spill occurred early in the nuclear and the Government of Egypt, before we signed the agreement," the Japan International Cooperation Department official said.
